Out At Work

Everyone deserves the right to a job with dignity, free from discrimination because of who they love or who they are. Lambda Legal has been fighting for that right for years, working to make sure LGBT people and people living with HIV are protected against employment discrimination. We brought that fight to the doorstep of the Supreme Court, and they didn’t answer. But the Supreme Court didn’t say “no,” they said “not yet.”

So we’re pressing forward - bringing the fight to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mark Horton

Our client Mark Horton was offered a job as the vice president for sales and marketing at Midwest Geriatric Management (MGM) in St. Louis, Missouri. But the offer was withdrawn when MGM realized that Mark is gay. Mark has worked in healthcare since he was 16, spending more than four decades in the field, and is eager to continue.

Despite applying to many jobs since MGM withdrew its offer, he has not been able to get one.
